This piece was commissioned by a dear friend several years ago. His vision was for a capsized boat on a stormy sea, a man that needed to be rescued and a man clinging to the ROCK with one hand and reaching out to rescue with his other hand. It was painted in my studio.
The models that I used were my husband and our youngest son. Our son was addicted and drunk most of the time when the reference photo was taken. My husband, who loved Jesus dearly, left this life May 2017. In December of 2017, that son who had been drowning in his addiction reached out to Jesus. He confessed his faith and belief in Jesus. He was set free and delivered from his addictions.
In hind sight, I now see that this was and is prophetic art. It is an expression of answered prayer. God used the life and death of my husband to greatly impact the life of all 3 of ours sons.
