This is a blending of two parables about the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 13:44-46 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. . . .
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it. . .
The significance is that the Lord has looked for and found you. He has given all He has, the life and blood of His son, Jesus just for you. You are a treasure to Him and he takes you just as you are-dirt and all. He knows the value of what is hidden from other eyes. He sees past all the debris to a “Pearl of Great Price” – You.
